Antalya the City

With sun, sea, nature and history Antalya is also known as the Turkish Riviera. It has one of the cleanest beaches in the Mediterranean. The province has a shore of 630 km and it has many ancient cities, harbors, memorial tombs and beaches, little bays and nice forests which is not far away from the city.


With its palm-lined boulevard, the marina and the old castle with traditional architecture, all set amidst a modern city, Antalya is the capital of tourism in Turkey. The city has a wide selection of hotels, restaurants, bars, nightclubs and shops, but hosts also a number of sporting events throughout the year, like international beach volleyball, triathlon, golf tournaments (Ladies Open 2011, World Golf Amateur Team Championship 2012), archery, tennis and canoeing

competitions.


The Cultural Centre hosts cultural and art events in the fields of music, theatre (Aspendos ancient theatre is 1800 years old), and creative arts. The main area of interest in the city is central old quarter within the Roman walls, known as Kaleici, and there are many good museums.
